National Basketball League-Philippines (NBL), a SEC registered non-profit civic organization, established in 1999 under the auspices of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) in cooperation with the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP) and the Provincial Association of  Clubs, League-Organizations, Corporate Club Team and Institutions.

Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Registration number A1999-09287, 16 July 1999, to organize & promote through Basketball tournament to be recognized and sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP). To promote and develop Basketball awareness at all levels nationwide. To conduct a Basketball seminar/clinic/ course particularly Basketball. To affiliate with the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) to the following: To support the National interest of the BAP such as the formation of the National University 3x3 Basketball Team in Junior, Men's, and women's team. To represent the Philippines in International or invitational competitions being recognized by the BAP. To support and cooperate with FESSAP, National PISCUAA, CAAP, LACUAA, QPAA, SRCAA & RISCAA, and all affiliated Organizations with the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP).

  are to be able to
develop and implement
 a comprehensive nationwide grassroots basketball program that will rekindle the fans’ 
fervor for local basketball and as a result create a powerful, self-sustaining platform for the sport, the league, school & university groups, the regional teams, and the corporate sponsors.

                NBL Objectives

              To help implement and promote the development of grassroots basketball programs known as the National Basketball League (NBL) recognized by the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) in cooperation with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Governors League of the Philippines (GLP);

            To offer an alternative venue for all amateur basketball players nationwide to show and enhance their individual skills; 

             To coordinate with the Governor’s League of the Philippines on its participation, sport activities and be active as official member  of the National Basketball League’s Board of Governors;

              To slowly re-introduce provincial basketball competitions in all 16 regions of different provinces as one National League.

              To fully support the local government unit, non-government organization, and all sectors of society in all provinces for the uplift and upgrade the youth development in our community;

              All teams will be represented by province in all different regions except the National Capital Region (NCR) will not be part of this tournament but will act as main organizer of NBL.


                                                                                                  NBL National Championship Format

1.  The tournament will be divided into four divisions: Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and National Capital Region.

2.  Tournament proper to be completed in 10 weeks (maximum) start in January to March 2012.

3. All Participating Provincial teams will play a single round elimination with a Home and Away format base on strategic Region.

4. The Quarter-finals consist of top eight (8) teams after the elimination that will qualify divided into two (2) groups.

5.  The Top four (4) teams after the quarterfinals will qualify for the semifinals crossover system. 
     The games will be held at their respective home courts. Subject for discussion.

6. Finals will take the advantage home court base on the highest point or quotient subject for discussion 
           
        a. The Top 1 will have home court advantage.

        b. The top 2 will have the second home court advantage. 

        c. The last game if both tied in the first and second outing will go for the home court advantage to Top 1.
 
7.   FIBA rules is apply.

Financial Aspect

          Sustainable of team expenses such as air or sea fares, allowances for food and dormitory when travelling to other provinces, teams’ players and coaching staffs allowances, Uniforms and other paraphernalia usage for the team itself; Secretariat’s Budget to run the League;
 
           Operations and tournament proper expenses; Publicity on print and magazine; Contingencies such as office supplies, equipment, uniform, promo items, flyers, streamers and poster, etc.;
 
           Each participating team will contribute an amount of P120, 000.00 (One Hundred Twenty Thousand Pesos) as Regular per Tournament Fee for use in its operational and preparation for this project;
 
            Marketing partner will be utilized to make an additional revenue for this project, Either through television or sponsors if possible;

5.     Be acknowledged for your contributions in unifying the nation through the basketball competition.
